Car Seat Program

Fayetteville Fire & EMS has been actively involved in Child Passenger Safety since 2006 and currently maintains a staff of 7 certified technicians who inspect child seats every year. Technicians attend a thirty-two hour course to obtain their initial certification and must renew it every two years which includes obtaining six hours of Continuing Education as well as having an instructor verify their competence.
This program is funded by the Fayetteville Firemen’s Association which supports this program with a generous donation annually. Monies from the association allow for the purchase of seats, technician certification and recertification fees, and other related supplies. Additionally, the department received a New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Council grant in 2007 which allowed for the purchase of a trailer as well as most of the initial program supplies.
Our program is mobile and we would love the opportunity to come to your event and inspect seats wherever you might. Should you be interested, please call the firehouse at (315) 637-6101. Thank you.
